Hi!  I’m Kelly!

I am Kelly Burris, an architect, certified home stager and color expert, and owner of Kelly Burris Design, a home staging and design company serving Dallas, TX.  I launched my business after rounding out a successful career as a Facility Manager, Architect, and various roles at a Fortune 50 insurance company. Before that, I worked on luxury residential, small commercial, and historic preservation projects with architectural firms. I had the privilege of overseeing diverse teams, projects, and operations for facilities ranging from 2,000 to 2 million square feet across Texas. These experiences gave me valuable insights into customer service, team leadership, and project management, which I now apply to deliver exceptional results for my clients.

When I staged my own homes, each sold in four days or less. But the turning point came when my parents passed away, and for various reasons, my siblings and I needed to make the most we could on the sale. To do that, we couldn't sell the property as-is, so I staged it. The home sold immediately allowing us to support those who mattered most to us. One family member was able to buy a larger home to accommodate their grandchildren. Another was able to use the proceeds to address a significant health concern. And another was able to create a gathering place for our family after our parents' passing.

So, that's why I stage homes.

I believe that God created each of us with gifts that we are to use to help people around us.  As a home stager and designer, I get to do that in a unique way.

  • Early career:  I am a licensed architect and spent the early years of my career working on multi-million luxury residential projects and historic preservations projects on the beautiful San Antonio Riverwalk
  • Travel:  My husband and I love to travel, and during the hot Texas summers, we to escape the heat and head to the mountains and hike in cooler temperatures!  But the best times are spent visiting our grown kids! 
  • Pets:  I’m a dog mom to an adorable and spoiled Scottish Terrier.
  • Obsessed with:  "The 3 ‘P’s”:  "Plates (china – especially blue & white), Pillows, and Pictures” (art)!  
  • Food & Drink:  As a Texas girl, naturally I’m addicted to queso (and chocolate). There. I said it. I may never recover no matter how hard I try.  And, I start most days with what I call my coffee “prescription”: “Grande Pike in a Venti cup, one package of Stevia and a little coconut milk". Ask my barista/pharmacist….she knows.
